This signature presence at 218th Street and Broadway sends a powerful message—to student-athletes, to coaches, to the campus community, to alumni and to the sporting public—about Columbia's commitment to athletics. The Campbell Sports Center provides state-of-the art training and learning facilities for nine of Columbia's outdoor sports programs, including a multi-media theater-style classroom, a strength and conditioning center, and a new student-athlete lounge and hospitality pavilion.
The Campbell Sports Center honors one of our most accomplished athletics alumni: the captain of the 1961 Ivy League Champion football Lions, former Columbia head football coach, "Coach of Silicon Valley," and Chair of the University Trustees, William V. Campbell '62CC.
